Best Buddies

This has been a busy month, with not enough time for painting. Finally this weekend I had some time and was able to get back to the easel. I started with familiar territory, apples. I did three small paintings yesterday. This was the best. It feels so good to paint again. It seems like I'm starting all over. I have a few ideas for a new series, but first wanted to warm up with something comfortable, an old friend, apples.

Sometimes life gets in the way of painting. And, that's ok. We paint when we can. As long as we get back to it.

Nancy, I love the way you address edges. They are so soft where they need to be. It is interesting as these apples kiss in the middle but it makes a really nice composition and makes me eyes explore both of the forms. Love it!

Hi Nancy, I just found your blog, and I love your work. I love the sushi. Your economy and simplification of forms is very attractive and different! thanks!

Well, these are apples, but they absolutely GLOW! It's funny how a couple of days away from the easel can make you feel like you don't know how to do anything anymore! You don't have to worry about that, these are great!
