Turquoise Trim

Still working on lights and dark value patterns. This painting was done from a photo of an adobe art gallery in Santa Fe. The turquoise blue window and door trim, on adobe colored buildings, is everywhere in Santa Fe. I was told that the reason for the turquoise blue color, is the belief that blue is a spiritual color that will prevent evil spirits from entering your home. I love that idea!

The colors are so vibrant and you painted the shadow so well. If we ever meet in person, I'll tell you about the blue painted trim around here and why. We also have blue bottle trees.

Fabulous colors!!! Very dramatic. Love the soft teal in the foreground too - goes so nicely with the striking teal door frames. Love the spiritual protection idea too!
Take care!
