The Heart of Art

This painting, and more will be part of the Heart of Art, exhibit at Alina B, in Blackhawk Plaza, starting Feb 6, 2015, reception, Feb 7th, 5 to 8.  The exhibit with feature the work of the fabulous Debbi Smith Rourke, and Nancy Boynton Hartley!  Can hardly wait! More details to come!

Sunday's reception at The Studio Gallery, was a great success, with lots of beautiful art, going home with lots of happy customers!  The good news, the exhibit continues until Dec 22nd!  Even more good  news, the Studio Gallery, will be celebrating their 11th anniversary on Dec. 7th, 1 to 6pm.

Piedmont Art Center Juried Exhibit

Good news, these 2 paintings, were among the 35, selected to be exhibited at the Annual
Piedmont Art Center Juried Exhibit.  The exhibit will be up from Nov 1 thru 30.  Please come to the reception, Nov. 1st, 5 to 8 pm. Hope to see you there!

Far Away

Another painting, of the the red barn in the distance. I have done a lot of these, each one slightly different.  For whatever reason, this subject has been a very good seller.  It is instant gratification to paint something, again, and again, each time making small changes.  More to come!

After posting this painting the other day, I decided the sky was too pale, and repainted it, a darker blue.  I think this helps.

A Little More London

It has been very hot, and dry, here, with temps in the high 90's , low 100's.  I just had to post a few more photos of London, on a gorgeous, misty, drizzly day. These photos are of the Shard, the tallest building in London. The view,  is from the fabulous cocktail lounge in the Shangri-la Hotel, at the top of the Shard.

Yellow and Blue

This is one of my favorite classic color combinations. Yellow and blue is a universal favorite, and can be seen in paintings through out history, and across cultures.  I think it is pretty hard to go wrong, using these colors!

  

Saatchi Gallery, London

We stopped by  the Saatchi Gallery, in London,  and saw all kinds of interesting art,  huge ant sculptures, by Rafael Gomezbarros,  and also huge,  paintings by  Aboudia.    This is a wonderful place to visit !!

To London and Back

We just arrived home after being away for 10 wonderful days. This is the Tower of London, one of the many great places that we visited.  The bottom photo shows some metal animal sculptures that are  perched on ledges, walls, etc.  Evidently, there was a menagerie of all kinds of exotic animals that livid within the tower walls.
