Good Bye August

Yes, I'm still here. This month has been so busy. I have had no time for posting, and very little time for painting. What I have been doing is traveling, seeing art exhibits, and working with Tim Horn's Friday afternoon Paint Club. Here is Tim, doing a demo. What I have learned is that plein air painting is an endless challenge. Tim makes it all look effortless! Meanwhile, I remind myself, it's OK, we are all learning!

A long time ago I was anxious about being in a painting class... the teacher was so good, and the students, to my mind, all 'got' what she was teaching. I gave myself permission to be the worst one in the class... believe me, I was... and it was the best thing I ever did for myself. Classes are just for learning - make every mistake you can - your instructor will help you, and then you can toss that bad boy away - or paint over it! Lucky you to study with Tim... on my Bucket List...

Yep, me too. Learn from the masters. That's the best way. And what a gorgeous setting!!! Rolling hills and that striking white house and pink/orange roof top. What a find. It's also fun being in the setting - always adds to the painting whether you finished ala prima or painted from a photo you took. Nice living vicariously thru you! :)
